China Further Slashes Price of a Covid-19 Test to $2.40

China told local public hospitals to further slash the price of Covid-19 nucleic acid tests to no more than 16 yuan ($2.40) a person for a single test, down from more than 120 yuan two years ago.

The cost for pooling tests in large-scale assessments should be no more than 3.5 yuan per person, according to a notice issued Wednesday by the National Healthcare Security Administration (NHSA).
