The emergence of a Covid-19 infection cluster in Shanghai reignited fears of a new wave of resurgence that may have spread beyond the city.

Shanghai recorded 24 new infections Tuesday, the most in three weeks. That brought the total of positive cases to 32 since July 3, when the city ended a week of zero cases, according to the city’s disease control officials. New infections reported across several city districts Tuesday were all linked to a karaoke bar in the Putuo district. Officials warned that more cases may appear.
