Spicy Hotpot Chain Haidilao Weighs HK Listing of Overseas Unit

Founded in 1994, Haidilao is popular for the spicy broth in which diners cook their meats and vegetables.

(Bloomberg) — Haidilao International Holding Ltd., China’s largest hotpot restaurant chain, is considering a spinoff of its overseas business and listing the unit in Hong Kong by way of introduction.

The Beijing-based company said a spinoff of Super Hi International Holding Ltd. would position the unit and the parent for growth, according to a Monday exchange filing. The company has not yet applied to list shares of the unit, which operates its business outside greater China, the filing showed.
