China has released a new set of guidelines for green bond issuance to create a unified framework for a fast-growing market plagued by differing standards.

China Green Bond Principles was released on Friday as ESG (environmental, social and corporate governance) investment in China continues to grow rapidly.

The country’s green bond issuance grew the most among major markets in 2021, according to a report jointly published in May by the Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI), an international nonprofit organization, and the China Central Depository & Clearing Research Center (CCDC Research).
