Southwest Chinese Province Extends Factory Power Cuts

China has extended an industrial power suspension in the southwestern province of Sichuan that was initially slated to last till Saturday, according to the affected manufacturers crucial to electric-vehicle (EV) batteries and photovoltaic product supply chains.

On Sunday, the Sichuan provincial government issued the highest-level emergency response on power supply shortfall, the day when local factories were supposed to resume production after a six-day suspension from Aug. 15 to 20.
