Tesla, Nio Suspend EV Charging Services as China Power Cuts Bite

(Bloomberg) — China’s power crisis is affecting electric-car owners as automakers including Tesla Inc. and Nio Inc. suspend some charging facilities.
User apps show that charging stations are down in Chengdu in Sichuan province. There the nation’s worst drought since the 1960s slashed hydropower generation at the same time a punishing heat wave has sent electricity demand surging. Charging sites are also closed in the nearby city of Chongqing.
