Indonesia Paves Way to Becoming a Global EV Hub, but Challenges Persist

(Deal Street Asia) — Indonesia is intent on taking advantage of its large reserves of nickel to become a global hub for electric-vehicle (EV) manufacturing and exports.
In 2019, the government introduced a series of incentives for EV manufacturers and transport companies to lure investors. This includes reduced import duties on unassembled and semi-assembled vehicles and import tariff deductions for machinery and materials used in EV production.
