Hong Kong Lowers Age Standard for Proving Covid Vaccination

(Bloomberg) — Hong Kong will require children as young as age 5 to prove they are inoculated before they can enter restaurants, indoor play areas and other venues, health department authorities said.
The requirement expands the reach of Hong Kong’s vaccine pass even as other jurisdictions largely drop such screening mechanisms. The city’s Leave Home Safe mobile app, which stores Covid immunization records and tracks locations where visitors are required to check in, already is required for everyone ages 12 and older. The government is expanding the program to include elementary school-age children starting Sept. 30.
