World in Danger of Missing Deadline to Meet U.N. Sustainable Development Goals

It is “regrettable” that global progress toward the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for 2030 “are falling behind schedule,” said Bill Gates, co-chairman of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, as he cited the Covid-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict as factors for the setbacks.

Gates was speaking to Chinese media including Caixin ahead of the annual Goalkeepers Report released Tuesday, a publication by the foundation to track progress in fulfilling the SDGs.
