Amid Water Shortage Fears, Shanghai Says Supply is Normal and Safe

What’s new: Shanghai has reassured its 25 million residents that its water supply is running as per “normal” amid concerns that the city could face a water shortage after two major water sources ceased supply.

Located at the mouth of the Yangtze River, the city’s Qingcaosha and Chenhang reservoirs recently suspended water supplies for both residential and industrial use, after it was discovered they are contaminated with saltwater, authorities said.
