Analysis: Export Curbs Will Weigh on U.S. Firms as Chinese Customers Seek Reliable Alternatives

On Oct. 7, the U.S. implemented additional restrictions on exports of semiconductor technology to China.

The order, which requires new licenses for products that will be used for supercomputing and curbs the ability of U.S. firms to support China’s chip production, marks an escalation in a barrage of actions aimed at hobbling China’s semiconductor industry.
