Hong Kong Airport Traffic Surges After Hotel Quarantine Requirement Scrapped

An increasing number of passengers are flocking to Hong Kong after the financial hub eased its inbound travel restrictions, official data show, prompting its airport and airlines to hire additional staff in preparation for a revival of flight traffic.

The city’s rapid rollback of Covid entry curbs in recent months has left the local aviation industry in dire need of pilots, mechanics, air traffic controllers, customs officers and ground crew. At an Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) job fair last weekend, 18 companies sought manpower to fill as many as 1,200 jobs.
