Beijing Calls for Local Governments to Facilitate Entry for Foreign Business Executives

China has instructed local governments to facilitate access for international businesspeople to enter the country in a bid to stabilize foreign investment, especially in the manufacturing sector.
The move is part of measures in a document released Tuesday by six central government agencies including the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC).
It comes as China’s economy has been facing headwinds stemming from incessant Covid-19 outbreaks and stringent containment measures, which stifled production and limited movement across the Chinese border. Multiple foreign businesses have complained that this has made it difficult to attract or retain expats.
