Foxconn Taps Alternative Sites as Covid Drives Staff to Flee World’s Biggest IPhone Plant

Apple Inc. supplier Foxconn Technology Group is tapping alternative sites to maintain production after Covid concerns prompted workers at its biggest iPhone assembly plant to flee, the firm has told Caixin.

The Henan province plant, located in the Zhengzhou Airport Economy Zone and with more than 200,000 workers, went into “closed-loop operation” on Oct. 13 amid an outbreak in the city, the firm told local state-run media on Monday.
