Nvidia produces slower chip for China to avoid U.S. ban

Nvidia Corp. has begun producing a new chip for China that adheres to U.S. export control rules aimed at limiting that country’s access to its cutting-edge technology.

The A800 graphics process unit went into production in the third quarter and serves as an alternative to the A100 model, the U.S. chipmaker said in a statement on Monday.
