Japan to Require Covid Tests for Visitors From Reopened China

(Bloomberg) — Japan will require negative Covid-19 test results for travelers coming from China, as the country of 1.4 billion people opens its borders Jan. 8 and ends its “zero-Covid” strategy.
The policy will take effect Dec. 30, Prime Minister Fumio Kishida told reporters in Tokyo on Tuesday. Travelers who have been in the Chinese mainland within a seven-day period will be required to undergo testing upon arrival, he said, and those who test positive will have to quarantine for a week.
