Chinese Cities Offer Covid Antibody Tests as Outbreak Wanes

Several Chinese cities are rolling out antibody testing services to the public that will help track the immunity level among the population as a wave of Covid infections ebbs across the country.
Health-care institutions in central China’s Hunan province started offering immunoglobulin blood tests Wednesday, allowing individuals to test IgM and IgG antibodies for the coronavirus, according to the provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). A high IgM level usually indicates a recent infection, while elevated IgG levels suggest a person has entered recovery or has completely recovered. Recent vaccinations also lead to high antibody levels.
