China to Reorganize Science and Tech Ministry, Set Up National Data Bureau

China is planning a massive revamp of its government that includes the introduction of a new national financial regulatory body, a reorganization of the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the cutting of headcount at central state organs by 5%.

The proposals have been submitted to China’s national legislature for review after State Councilor Xiao Jie presented the plans to the National People’s Congress on behalf of the State Council, the country’s cabinet.
