China Concludes Central Government Reshuffle With New Vice Premiers, State Councilors
China’s parliament has elected a new lineup of vice premiers and state councilors, while keeping most cabinet ministers unchanged, concluding the latest central government reshuffle before the annual gathering of lawmakers ends Monday.
Ding Xuexiang, who serves as director of the General Office of the Communist Party’s Central Committee and a Politburo Standing Committee member, was named the top-ranked vice premier. He is one of four newly elected vice premiers nominated by Premier Li Qiang, who took the helm of the State Council on Saturday.
