China Doubles Down on Rooting Out Corruption in Sports
The Communist Party of China has launched a new round of disciplinary inspections, with the General Administration of Sport among the organizations targeted as the country digs deeper to tackle corruption and deep-rooted institutional problems in sports, especially soccer.
The round of inspections is the first held by the party’s 20th Central Committee, elected in October, according to a Sunday statement published by the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI), China’s top graft watchdog.
