Financial Industry Group Warns of Risks to Using Chatbots

What’s new: A Chinese financial industry group has urged its members to “cautiously” use Microsoft-backed ChatGPT and similar chatbots due to the risk they pose to data security.

The Payment and Clearing Association of China, a self-regulatory organization overseen by the central bank, cautioned that “these intelligent tools have manifested risks including cross-border data leaks,” it said in a Monday statement.
