About 12 kilometers south of Luoyang, an ancient city in Central China’s Henan province, there is a massive Buddhist cave complex that is 1 kilometer long and consists of over 2,300 caves and niches carved out of cliffs, featuring about 110,000 Buddhist figures ranging in size from 2 centimeters to 17 meters tall, thousands of inscribed stone tablets and dozens of stupas.
