China’s services sector continued its post-Covid recovery in April with activity expanding at the second-fastest pace since November 2020, although signs of a slowdown emerged, a Caixin-sponsored survey showed Friday.
The Caixin China General Services Business Activity Index, which provides an independent snapshot of operating conditions in services industries such as retail and travel, stood at 56.4 in April, the fourth straight month of expansion. Although the reading fell from 57.8 the previous month, it was still well above the 50 line that divides expansion from contraction.
