What’s new: Beijing’s peace envoy met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a two-day visit to Ukraine this week, the Chinese foreign ministry confirmed on Thursday.

Li Hui, former Chinese Ambassador to Russia and newly named Special Representative on Eurasian Affairs, reiterated China’s commitment to work with the international community toward a political settlement for the war and Beijing’s willingness to help restore peace in the region.
