Qualcomm Sees Future in Cars and China as It Looks Beyond Phones, CEO Says

Qualcomm Inc. will ramp up its push to diversify beyond the slumping phone market, president and CEO Cristiano Amon told Caixin, as the U.S. mobile chipmaker remains committed to expanding its business in China.

The company will emphasize an expansion in the automotive industry, Amon told Caixin in a March interview at the firm’s Shenzhen office. “We're spending a lot of time … with automotive and making it a bigger component of the Qualcomm diversification strategy.”
