China’s homegrown C919 jet completed its first commercial flight on Sunday, almost six months after the would-be competitor to Boeing Co. and Airbus SE’s single-aisle airliners was first delivered to China Eastern Airlines Corp. Ltd. (600115.SH).

China Eastern flight MU9191 took off from Shanghai at 10:32 a.m. and landed in Beijing at 12:31 p.m., the Xinhua News Agency reported. The airline also started flying the C919 on its daily Shanghai-Chengdu route on Monday.
