China and Singapore’s Military Top Brass to Establish Direct Hotline

What’s new: Chinese and Singaporean militaries agreed to establish a direct and secure hotline for high-level communication between the two countries’ defense officials, according to state media reports.

During a meeting between Defense Minister Li Shangfu and his Singaporean counterpart Ng Eng Hen Thursday, the two sides agreed to strengthen high-level strategic communication and promote bilateral defense relations “to a new level,” China Daily reported Defense Ministry Spokesperson Tan Kefei as saying at a press briefing Thursday.
