The U.S. is “trying very hard to send signals” that it wants to reengage with China amid deteriorating bilateral ties, former Acting Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Wendy Cutler said Monday at the inaugural Asia New Vision Forum in Singapore.

At the Caixin-hosted event, Cutler also said Secretary of State Antony Blinken is expected to visit China in a matter of days, and she hopes the two countries can work toward better relations.
