China is willing to work with the international community to counter trade protectionism and any form of decoupling or severing supply chains, Premier Li Qiang said in Paris on Friday.

Such efforts can help promote free trade and investment, injecting fresh momentum into the growth of developing countries, Li said at the Summit for a New Global Financing Pact, during his first trip abroad as premier.

This is one of Li’s three proposals to bridge the global development financing gap, according to the state-run Xinhua News Agency. The gap has plagued many developing countries, especially vulnerable ones.
