Senior China Cabinet Official Named Party Chief at Social Security Reserve Fund, Source Says

What’s new: Senior State Council official Ding Xuedong has been named as Communist Party chief of the National Council for Social Security Fund (NCSSF), a source familiar with the matter told Caixin.
The decision was announced by the party’s Organization Department at an NCSSF meeting held on Saturday afternoon, the source said.
The background: Before being named as the NCSSF’s party chief, Ding, 63, was executive deputy secretary-general at the State Council, China’s cabinet, a post he took in 2018.
