China, U.S. Have Shared Interests in Getting Ties Back on Track, Party Official Says

China and the U.S. have a shared responsibility and common interests that have remained unchanged over time, and a focus on these shared areas will help develop better bilateral relations, a senior foreign relations official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) said.

Liu Jianchao, minister of the International Department of the CPC’s Central Committee, made the remarks Sunday at the 11th World Peace Forum (WPE), an event organized by Tsinghua University in Beijing.
