Tencent Employee Detained for Hacking Alma Mater’s Student Database

A 25-year-old graduate of Renmin University of China has been detained by police on suspicion of a large-scale hacking of his alma mater’s student database.

The suspect, surnamed Ma, was detained by Beijing police, according to a notice published by Haidian district’s public security bureau Monday. Investigations are underway, according to the statement, which did not reveal how many students were affected.
