China’s Premier Meets Tech Leaders, Calls for More Support from Local Governments

What’s new: Chinese Premier Li Qiang met with executives from the country’s leading technology firms, including Alibaba Group Holding Ltd. and ByteDance Ltd. on Wednesday, confirming the internet platform sector’s increasingly important role in the country’s economy.

Attendees of the meeting also include executives from food delivery platform Meituan; social media Xiaohongshu Technology Co.; Lalatech Holdings Ltd., operator of on-demand delivery services Huolala; and HAIZOL, an online platform for sourcing custom parts and components, state broadcaster CCTV reported.
