Exclusive: Former Everbright Chairman Tang Shuangning Out of Contact

Tang Shuangning, former chairman of state-owned financial conglomerate China Everbright Group, has been out of reach as speculation swirls over if Tang is under investigation, Caixin learned from sources close to the matter.

Tang, who retired from Everbright in late 2017, was taken away by authorities with his wife on Wednesday, sources told Caixin.

The 69-year-old stopped updating his WeChat social media account this week, people familiar with Tang said. He would frequently share posts and exercise progress with his contacts on a daily basis, they said.
