Jay Chou’s Mom Cashes in on Son’s Star Power as IPO Shines

(Bloomberg) — Taiwan pop superstar Jay Chou’s mother has become even richer from her son’s image.

On Thursday, shares in Yeh Hui-Mei’s company Star Plus Legend Holdings surged as much as 48% on their trading debut after selling at HK$4.25 (54 U.S. cents) each in an initial public offering in Hong Kong. That may lift her wealth significantly above the $54 million that she was set to gain based on the offer price, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index.
