Hainan Airlines Operator Plans Jet Buying Spree

What’s new: The owner of Hainan Airlines Holding Co. Ltd. (600221.SH) has said it plans to expand the group’s fleet to more than 1,000 planes by 2029.

By 2035, the airline and its subsidiaries aim to operate 1,200 to 1,300 aircraft, said Fang Wei, chairman of Liaoning Fangda Group Industrial Co. Ltd. at a meeting Sunday. Liaoning Fangda took over HNA Group Co. Ltd.’s flagship carrier in December 2021 as part of the embattled-conglomerate’s restructuring.
