In early July, the European Commission’s top climate negotiator Frans Timmermans travelled to Beijing to attend the 4th China-EU High-level Dialogue on Environment and Climate, where he sought to deepen cooperation on global green transition efforts in meetings with senior Chinese leaders.
Timmermans’ two-day visit, which concluded July 4, had a packed schedule that saw him meet with Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang, China’s Special Envoy for Climate Change Xie Zhenhua, and Ecology and Environment Minister Huang Runqiu.
