Alibaba Cloud Brings Meta’s Next-Gen AI Model to Mainland

What’s new: Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.’s cloud unit said it has become the first Chinese mainland-based enterprise to support Meta Platforms Inc.’s new Llama artificial intelligence (AI) model, bringing the next-generation technology used to train ChatGPT-like tools to Chinese businesses.

“Today, Alibaba Cloud is the first to launch a training and deployment solution for the entire series of Llama 2 in China. All developers are welcome to create customized large models on Alibaba Cloud,” the firm said in a statement on its WeChat account Tuesday.
