Securities regulators in Beijing and Hong Kong agreed to add block trading to the stock connect program linking investors in Hong Kong and on the mainland in a further expansion of mutual access between markets.

The China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) and Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) “reached a consensus on the introduction of block trading under the Stock Connect,” the regulators said Friday in a joint statement. The stock exchanges on both sides will report operational details and the official launch date later, the regulators said.
