China Extends Tax Incentives by Two Years to Bolster Housing Market

What’s new: Amid a host of policies aimed at spurring the moribund real estate market, China extended tax incentives by two years for homebuyers and for developers of public rental housing.

Residents who sell existing homes and buy new homes in the same city within a year can collect refunds of personal income taxes on the housing sales until the end of 2025, the Finance Ministry and the State Administration of Taxation said Friday. The policy was initiated in September 2022 and was to expire at the end of this year
