China-U.K. Thaw Continues as Top Officials Confer in Beijing

China’s Vice President Han Zheng and Foreign Minister Wang Yi hosted U.K. Foreign Secretary James Cleverly Wednesday in Beijing in a sign of improving relations between the two countries.
As the U.K’s first top diplomat to visit China in five years, Cleverly agreed with the Chinese officials “on the importance of direct cooperation between the U.K. and China on the biggest global challenges,” according to a statement issued by the U.K. Foreign Office.
