For Sale Signs on Housing Go Up All Over China’s Megacities

What’s new: Chinese sellers of existing homes rushed to list their houses for sale after the country’s four first-tier cities eased definitions of first-home buyers to enable more people to take advantage of lower mortgage rates and down payments.
In the week of Sept. 4–10, new listings of existing homes in first-tier cities jumped 43% from the previous week to 79,541 units, bringing the total existing home inventory on the market to 801,915 units, the highest level this year, data from the Zhuge Real Estate Data Research Center showed.
