HKMA Chief Eddie Yue Appointed to Key BIS Role

Eddie Yue Wai-man, chief executive of the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, was appointed to a key post at the Bank for International Settlements, a top international financial institution backed by most of the world’s central banks.
Yue will succeed Luiz Awazu Pereira da Silva, former deputy governor of Brazil’s central bank, for a three-year term as chair of the BIS’s Meeting of Governors from Major Emerging Market Economies, effective Sept. 1.
