TikTok Fined $369 Million for Putting EU Children’s Data at Risk

(Bloomberg) — The European Union fined Chinese video app TikTok 345 million euros ($369 million) over the way it manages children’s personal data.
The Irish Data Protection Commission found that TikTok failed to protect minors against unnecessary data processing and didn’t act in a transparent manner, according to a decision made public Friday. The TikTok unit of ByteDance Ltd. faces a global backlash over its links to China.
