China Children’s Charity Probed in $1.4 Million Fraud Scandal

What’s new: The Ministry of Civil Affairs has sent a team of investigators to look into alleged violations by the China Charities Aid Foundation for Children (CCAFC), which was recently implicated in a fraud scandal involving more than 10 million yuan ($1.37 million) from the parents of sick children.
The team has moved into the foundation, one of the country’s most respected charities, to conduct a “thorough” investigation, according to a statement published by the ministry on Wednesday.
