China’s Top Diplomat to Visit Washington

Foreign Minister Wang Yi will travel to the U.S. this week and meet with senior American officials, the Chinese foreign ministry confirmed Tuesday, as the world’s two major powers continue high-level communications aimed at stabilizing bilateral ties.

During a three-day visit beginning Thursday, Wang will have in-depth exchanges with Washington officials on China-U.S. relations as well as international and regional issues of common concern, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning said Tuesday during a daily press briefing.
