Communist Party Names New Economic Czar

Vice Premier He Lifeng has been named office director of a top party economic policymaking body, state media reported, replacing former economic czar Liu He who had held the position for over a decade.

The appointment was revealed in a Xinhua report published late Sunday, which addressed He as the director of the office of the party’s Central Commission for Financial and Economic Affairs (CCFEC), during a meeting with French president’s diplomatic counselor Emmanuel Bonne.
