China and Australia have agreed to boost relations by continuing or expanding engagement in a range of areas, including political dialogue, trade, energy and climate change, according to a joint statement released Tuesday.

The announcement came as Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese wrapped up his four-day visit to Beijing, during which he met with China’s top 3 leaders — President Xi Jinping, Premier Li Qiang and Zhao Leji, chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress.
