Cuba Seeks Direct Flights From China as Soon as Next Year

What’s new: Cuba is seeking Chinese government consent and support for direct flights by Air China Ltd. between China and Cuba as early as next year, Cuban Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz said Tuesday.

The two countries have frequent economic and trade exchanges, Marrero said at Cuba’s embassy in Beijing during a week-long visit to China. With 10 international airports, Cuba is a safe tourism destination, and the country is welcoming global businesses to help develop Cuban tourism, Marrero said.
