An investment arm of Chinese private equity firm Hillhouse Capital is under investigation by the China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC) for alleged violations of share transfer rules, according to a company in which it holds a significant stake.

LONGi Green Energy Technology Co. Ltd., a Chinese solar panel maker, disclosed the probe Wednesday in a statement. Without disclosing details, the company said the investigation involved a transfer of LONGi shares by HHLR Management Pte. Ltd., a Singapore-based unit of Hillhouse. HHLR invests in China’s stock market through the Qualified Foreign Institutional Investor program.
